Seems that just as we were on a real roll, we were hit with the flu bug.
Me first, which really slowed the house down. Last Friday, I took the two youngest to the Dr. Lacy was tested for strep (thank you Lord as the tests were negative) Christian (4) who is ashmatic, had a low oxygen level and ended up on predinsone (a steriod) Mondays followup showed him getting better, but not at 100% yet.
My DH came down with it and was off work for 2 days as well. The coughing still goes on in the background, mostly Christian. And we all are becoming tired quickly. We still were able to get some schoolwork done, but at a slower pace.
This week we are working on a St. Patricks day folder, to learn a little about him, I hope to have them finished today, then we are going to start an Easter on...concentrating on the story of Jesus.
I just recieved a book by Robin Sampson regarding celebrating the OT feasts. I want to put this curriculum addition in play next school year, so I have been reading thru it. She is at www.heartsofwisdom.com and is quite the author. Celebrating the feasts and the old testament have been on my heart for a while, but I run into "resistance" from family and friends. I believe God did not write these commandments to have us strictly adhere to them, but to cause us to remember Him and what He has done, so that we may know Him.
Nathan has cub scouts this today, he so loves it! We have been working hard to complete his wolf requirements, since we only started this in January, he has a lot of work to finish to get his wolf by April. We are counting down individual projects now, instead of whole achievements.
We went through the religious emblem "God and me". You can find this at www.pray.org. I also walked Lacy through it as it is not just cubscout oriented. I ordered her a charm for a necklace to show that she has completed it since it was for first graders. Next year I will do this one again with Christian and the "God and family" with the other two.
Our struggle at home still goes as far as finding a church. Anyone reading, please pray that God will show us where we need to be. We have tried a number of Churches, but none seem to fit, we are not compelled to return. We have been without a home church for about 3 years now, and it is taking a toll on us.
