State Fair

The last of summer draws near as is evidenced by our state fair. This runs the last week of July each year.

Christian eating a "Viking" from the Son's of Norway booth. Nothing really healthy about fair food! Lacy and Nathan actually ordered them, but neither liked them so they opted for a Taco in a Bag. Christian ate a good share of Lacy's after finishing his own Taco's. MMMM GOOD

At one of the stalls, the kids made ornaments for the National Christmas Tree. They have been entered in to possibly win a trip to DC for the tree lighting ceremony.
More important they had fun making the ornaments.

Lacy showing off her ornament.

Christian looks very proud of his work!

Papa, Lacy and Christian rode the ferris wheel! Nathan was a bit skittish and did not go on this trip. We attended the fair again with Mom and Nathan did ride with mom and realized it was fun!

The kids loved seeing the animals, and the exibits. We saw a lumberjack show in which they threw axes, a competition to saw through a log and log rolling.

Nathan's favorite display was the lego's. Lacy's was thrilled to Milk the goat. Christian especially enjoyed the train exhibit. The train exhibit grows every year, and about consumes an entire building. There was a note that showed us they are being given a real caboose, I cannot wait to see what they do with that.

For next year. Nathan wants to build a lego starwars diorama and enter that with some pictures he has taken. Christian wants to do the stars wars as well. Lacy does not know what she wants to enter yet, but there is plenty of time.

A good time was had by all.
