We had planned a trip to Billings Mt on Friday the 18th. However, Thursday evening as I was going to fill up the van and go to check out a new cub scout troup, the fuel pump went out leaving Nathan and I stranded. Fortunatly My husband was on the way home and found us. We towed the van home, and the mechanic cant get it in until May 1, so our trip is postponed.
Saturday we received 15 inches of snow, breaking records and leaving us stranded at home. We were snowed in until Sunday evening when DH used our old suburban and a shovel to get us out. Yesterday one of our neighbors came and dug us out the rest of the way, for which I am grateful as we were haveing to drive way off the driveway because of a 50' snow drift that we would not have been able to get through. Thank you George! Because of the storm that came in, I am glad we had to postpone the trip.
Monday evening Lacy and I went to a brownie meeting to check this out for her. She loved it. She is the youngest in group...since we homeschool she is already in the first grade while most girls her age are still in kindergarten. One of the games they played was to look at a tray of toys for a minute then try to remember what was on it when it was covered. She is not writing to the same level as the other girls, so she drew the pictures. She not only recalled all 10 items, but drew them where they were on the tray. We shall try out the next couple of meetings to see if this holds her interest or if we need to look for something else for her. I hope to have both of the boys in cub scouts next year, as Nathan really enjoys it, and Christian so wants to be part of it.
The kids went to their swimming lesson yesterday, they are all doing so well. Nathan is still a bit skittish about being on his back, and still requires a small cube for bouyancy...I think this is more for his security though! Lacy and Christian are in the same class now and both are overcoming their fear of being underwater. Lacy actually went underwater for diving sticks and got one. They only have 2 lessons left with this session.
Friday the pack meeting for Nathan's scouts is having a science fair...We have been working on some experiments for him to enter using eggs. All 3 kids have been watching as the experiments develop, and are having fun seeing the changes.
