On Thursday our princess turned 10...no longer a little girl. Her mom came up early and spent the day with us, which in itself is a blessing!

FINALLY...lego's for girls! Her mom bought her this house kit and the princess spent ages building it. She loves it! Her brothers also found some little legos that went with this perfectly. She is so glad to have some legos of her own that dont involve starwars/pirates or other boy oriented themes.

Cutting her cake with mom at her side...This was after her dinner of choice, grilled cheese sandwiches. She can pick anything she wants and that was her request. Part of the reason for that is that she wanted to make it herself, and she did.

Before presents, she worked with mom to make her birthday cake, she wanted cheesecake so they made this from scratch. We found this on pintrest, and the princess made it pretty much by herself. Tasted pretty good to!

Along with the legos, princess got apples to apples game, a lego creationary game, some art supplies with instruction books, and a pink fishing pole! We sat and played apples to apples last night and had such fun!

We had a special visitor to. The kids mom has friends that run a local group called the pet pawsee. This guy was rescued from a kill shelter in Nebraska, and her friend called and asked if my daughter could keep him for a week...that was in November. This boy is a pyrenese/irish wolf hound mix that they think is about 2 years old. At 145 pounds he may not be done growing yet...YIKES... His head is the size of a basketball!

Because of his size, it is tough to adopt him out, but in watching my daughter and this gentle giant together, I don't think he is going anywhere anytime soon. When he first came to her, Shaggy was skittish, scared of people, but he has really grown to trust that he is no longer going to be hurt. The kids all loved having him up here. I told my dau to bring him up anytime!
