Exploring through the eyes of a child.

For the past four days, my husband, our 3 grandchildren, and I went on an adventure.
We headed from our home in the high desert and plains of Montana, to Libby, nestled in the North West Corner of Montana.


401. Safe journey from home to Libby and back again
402. Gods creation of the beautiful mountains
403. Eyes wide with awe at seeing a beautiful lake
404. Little girls discovery of deer prints in the sand
405. Children's giggles as rocks fly into the water
406. Finding wild strawberry's in bloom.
407. A 6 year olds awe at a tree that has grown bent in the wind.
408. Buffalo burgers eaten under a canopy as rain gentle pour
409. An old dog by my side
410. Waking to have coffee on a deck, watching rain on the lake
411. A little girls handful of rocks
412. A museum that brings the past alive for children.
413. The museum that has a barn owl, to solidify what we have been learning through books.
414. A walk to the river, overcoming fear as they walk across a swinging bridge.
415. Bubble gum and chocolate icecream in the hands of a child, while husband savors the flavor of huckleberry icecream.
416. Dinner eaten at a picnic table with a lake in the background.
417. The cabins we stayed at and the manager making it so comfortable.
418. A waitress' tale of a bear in the resort.
419. Seeing a deer graze as we sit and look out the window.
420. Going to a cedar forest and finding snails
421. Eating lunch in "Paradise" (Paradise, MT)
422. Seeing bison, elk, deer, antelope, redwing blackbird, egret, bald eagles, golden eagles, meadowlarks, osprey and such abundant wildlife.
423. A little one screaming "SNAKE" as a black racer scurries into a culvert.
424. The many shades of green a forest can offer.
425. Finding a place to sleep for the night.
426. Being led to watch a memorial day service,
427. Our veterans, for keeping us free.
428. Bagpipes playing as the "Colors" are marched in
429. Taps that brings memories of my father...tears falling as I miss him but look forward to seeing him in heaven.
430. Childs eyes wide as a helicopter does a fly by so close we can see the pilot
431. A park, siblings squeals as they swing on a tire swing spinning in circles as they clutch the chains trying to hang on.
432. A carousel's magic as children race eachother in circles.
433. Excitement when they realize they have the golden ring!
434. A little ones diligence in trying to catch the golden ring, even though it is just out of reach.
435. A ghost town scavenger hunt being finished, by three children looking through old buildings from a town long abandoned.
436. A spontaneous lesson from a geologist who shares her knowlege of rocks with little ones who listen with interest.
437. Looking at a valley described as a "glacial lake" with timelines by "science" and the oldest asking Don't they know about the flood in the time of Noah?
438. Finding bits of gold in a piece of rock they have just kicked.
439. A little one declaring that he wants to find lots of gold so "papa" can stay home with us instead of going to work.
440. quiet as we head home, all tired, reflecting on our journey's end
441. A little one's comment...I know this place as we drive through our hometown.
442. Time to read a novel, that despite being fiction speaks of God's love and realization of changes I need to make in my own life.
443. A 10 year old's heart filled prayer of God's creation and beauty and never wanting to leave Libby.
444. On the homestretch seeing a golden eagle sitting on a fence post with it's dinner hanging over the edge.
445. Five exhausted bodies falling into the house, and a peaceful nights sleep in their own beds.
