This past Sunday, I went to a different church that usual. Sadly, I believe the church I attend regularly is dying and I am being told to find a new home.
The pastor's sermon was familiar story that I do so love. Jesus said to Peter, "Do you love me", Peter replies that he does, Jesus says, "Feed My Lambs", Three times Jesus asks Peter "Do you love me?" Would I have been like Peter, to Deny Christ three times before the cock crows? Would I have declared, I do not know Him! I probably would have, for I am less than Peter.
I look to my side, there sit 2 of my 3 grandchildren. The third is upstairs learning through a class for young children, he won't be there to much longer. He is given the option to stay with us or to go.
To often I feel as if I am not "doing" enough. But there sit these precious gifts, learning of God's word, recognizing the stories from God's word. They have committed themselves to Christ, they have been baptized, they love the old hymns and the new contemporary music.
We read the stories of Eli, Samuel, David, Daniel, Elijah, Adam, Noah... our heroes, would we be as strong as them? Can it be said of me that I am a (WO)man after God's own heart? Am I growing a life that HE wants of me? Do I have half the wisdom of Samuel? Am I as steadfast as David?
Each day, I get to start again. Each day, an opportunity to walk His paths, to draw closer to HIM? What does God want for my life...
Deuteronomy 10:12 "Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
I pray that each day I will keep HIS will, grow in HIM. And continue to feed his lambs!

Hunger for God
The children come in after playing all afternoon. Quickly they declare that they are "starving"...knowing it is close to dinner they are given a small snack to satisfy them until dinner is ready.
They savor the sweetness of the treat, and go off to play again knowing there will be more later. They know not to have more, as it will spoil their appetite...They will not eat their dinner.
What is it I do that spoils my appetite...my hunger...for God?
To busy...I don't have time, or "forgetting" to make time
Emotions...I am to tired and don't "feel" like it.
"Snacks"....rushing through a "quick" time of reading, praying in which it becomes routine...temporarily satisfying us, but without understanding, without taking time to grasp the truth, the reality God is trying to show us.
Neglect, being my own enemy, ...replacing time with God, with tv, computer, games, excuses....
Just as the body will become ill, hardened, weak, grotesque and distorted without proper nutrition, even starved, so my heart will grow hard, weaken and wither away.
The Great Physician, can heal my withered heart. I just need to feed it, if I don't feel hungry...for then my appetite, my hunger for God will return.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. I Peter 2:2.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. Job 23:12
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16

Repentance - The Road to Home
May 17 of last year, I was driving home after the Montana Homeschool Convention in Kalispell. I had never driven that far by myself before, I always had company and usually I was the passenger. I was a little apprehensive about doing this trip by myself before I left, but as I was packing up to head home, I was excited for what I had learned.
I left Kalispell after checking out of my room, I got gas to make sure I could get home, I checked my map and headed home, or so I thought. My mind was paying more to attention to CD that I had picked up, the voice talking of life as a homeschool family, words of wisdom from a family who has taken this journey long before the kids came into my life.
On I drove, another CD, looking at the mountains and scenery, stopping to take pictures...it dawned on me, this was not the same scenery I saw as I journeyed to Kalispell, it was different....I had strayed off the path, and gone onto a road that I did not belong on...panic set in as I was not sure of where I was....I was lost.
I pulled over and took out my husbands cell phone (I am so glad he was insistant that I take it, because as a general rule, I won't have one) I described to him what had happened, with his calm reassuring voice, he figured out what I had done and gave me detailed instructions on how to get to the road back to my home.
I had taken my eyes of the goal...I allowed myself to get distracted and sidetracked onto a road I had no business being on...
So it is with Our Heavenly Father. To often I find myself caught up in sin, with a small voice lying to me trying to justify the behaviour..."it's only"..."it doesn't matter"....but it does, for it takes me farther away from God.
I call to my Heavenly Father, and in His calm reassuing and forgiving voice, He wipes away my tears of sorrow, He forgives me of my sin and allows me to turn myself around, He gets me back on the right road, the road to Home.....
