FOR TODAY

Outside my window...Darkness, as night has fallen

I am thinking...that soon it shall be bedtime and I will rest.

I am thankful...for kids who were so helpful to me

In the kitchen...leftover homemade bread for tomorrow and cookies made by my 12 year old

I am wearing...grey sweatpants with a green t-shirt for pajamas

I am creating...a sanctuary for those who life here

I am going...to sleep soon

I am wondering...if the kids are as ready for coop to begin tomorrow as I am

I am reading...the bible, and Letters from a Woman Homesteader, skimming through a book to pick up tips for organizing my home

I am pondering....Old Testament Covenants....Abraham a physical convenant ; Moses, A convenant of the soul (mind and the will) The New covenant...the spirit.

I am hoping...that tomorrow goes well.

I am looking forward to...coming home tomorrow and reading Treasure Island with the kids

I am learning...how many little details I have missed as I reread God's word.

Around the house...living room needs just a couple little touches, then will be done



A few plans for the rest of the week: Work on some can organizers for my pantry, get back into the swing of academics, continuing with my 3 in 30 challenges.

A peek into my day...I am really dragging today, my poor old dog had me up 4 times in the night having to go outside. She is sleeping now, hope she rests well tonight.

A Simple Woman’s Daybook

For Today… Thursday, January 13

Outside My Window… Overcast, sun barely peaking through the grey sky.

I am thinking… that this year is off to a good start.

I am thankful… that the kids seem to finally "get it" about work before play.

I am remembering… that I ordered a book that should be in this week (on haircuts)

I am hearing… children playing games in the livingroom, the dishwasher running and music playing.

I am going… to continue decluttering our home and revamping our daily schedule to get it to work

I am hoping… that we don't get to much snow this weekend. We have missed two weeks of church because of snow problems (once I put the van into a huge snowbank, the next our dirt hill was pure ice all the way down)

On my mind…Finishing up chores today and the princess wants to make some bread.

From the learning rooms… going over the kids work for the day.

From the kitchen… Baked chicken for dinner

One of my favorite things… my cup of coffee every morning

I am reading...Radical by David Pratt. Taking 2-3 days per chapter with a study.


A few plans for the rest of this week… going through my dresser (I got new pj's for christmas...time to retire the old), kids have tae kwon do on Saturday and we are headed to a "garage sale" at our fair grounds. Church on Sunday and in the meantime, I want to have some fun and make rootbeer jelly.

Outside my window...Cloud cover and windy, droplest of rain falling

I am thinking...My cousins family, May God walk them through the death of their son/husband/father

I am thankful for...LIFE, God is so good to grant me another day.

From the learning rooms...Keys clicking on the computers, I am waiting to hear a call for help.

From the kitchen...Dishwasher running, smells of breakfast and coffee linger.

I am wearing...Jeans, Tshirt, tennis shoes

I am going...no where today, all my errands taken care of yesterday.

I am reading...An old novel, A Valley of Decisions, about a steel mill family in Pittsburgh in the 1800's.

I am hoping...the weather clears up for the weekend so we can work outside.

I am hearing...washing machine, wind blowing, hum of radio in the background.

One of my favorite things...looking for husbands truck when it is close to time for him to be home.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Finish up the boys room and get them moved in, start tearing out the next room to be done.

I am thinking...What a peaceful evening

I am thankful for...the promise of spring

From the learning rooms...piles of records to file

From the kitchen...leftover smells of dinner

I am wearing...Jeans, blue sweatshirt, barefoot as usual

I am creating...a peaceful home

I am reading...my bible

I am hearing...silence, broken by the 8 year old talking in her sleep.

Around the house...Everyone is tucked in bed, dogs snoring.

One of my favorite things...reflecting on my day

A few plans for the rest of the week: kids planning small gardens each, planning my own gardens, we have the opportunity to get some sapling trees so I need to decide where to put them. Continue with daily exercise and weight loss. Painting the boys bedroom.

Outside my window...Freezing Fog blankets us, this has been a long winter, we have had a really tough time getting to town...I am ready for spring

I am thinking...Of what needs to be done today, reminding myself to walk with God today, Phillipians 2:14...Do everything without complaining...

I am thankful for...My dh who provides for us, and God's wisdom to bring us together,I will be forever grateful to God for bringing us together

From the learning rooms...Morning play and chaos before we start, Kids excited about some new curriculum items we have added. Reviewing 4 more presidents today

From the kitchen...I can still smell the egg sandwiches the kids wanted. For dinner tonight, a hamburger and rice concoction .... it is the 6 year olds turn to "cook"

I am wearing...Jeans, blue sweater,socks and tennis shoes

I am creating...A heart for Jesus today! Rekindling my love for HIM...(if you feel far away from God, who moved....I have!)

I am going...to take the kids to swimming lessons this afternoon IF the fog lifts and the roads melt.

I am reading...My IBLP devotionals...the lessons are short but I find myself going back to them.


A few plans for the rest of the week: Clean out a room and set up the boys new bunk beds...I have to paint one wall in their new room.Then start planning the remodel of another bedroom, bath. I hope to compile a list of things to do with the coming spring and summer. Balance our budget. Keep close to God, that HE will be my guide.
