Simple Devotions

Dear Lord,I bring you my shortcomings...my confusion, my heart to do your will and your will alone, Father, you know my struggles. You teach me to love you with all my heart, mind and strength. My heart loves you so much, but my mind gets in the way. Show me your truths, your desire, your will for me and mine.

I bring you my worship and praise...as I stood on my deck watching the sun crest the mountains, colors more brilliant than I had ever seen. Knowing that all creation sings of your glory. Reflecting for a moment that in all YOU have created, and in just a moment giving me a small kiss to cherish as the day begins.

I bring you my prayer for...my friend as he struggles with the death of his beloved, and his son who does not know where to turn and finds himself getting into trouble. Wrap your arms around these two and envelope them with your love. Help heal their hurts and cause them to both turn to you.

You spoke to me... and reminded me that I am to be in the world but not of the world. Father God, cause my heart to seek you, to follow you and not reflect what the world is as it pulls farther and farther from you....

Simple Devotions

Dear Lord,I bring you my shortcomings...It is so easy to feel overwhelmed and forget to look to you. I forget that with you by my side I can do ALL things...

I bring you my worship and praise...reminding me who you are, you gave me a chance to encourage a little christian brother (about 5 years old) as he starts to overcome fear of water while at swim lessons with my own little ones.

I bring you my prayer for...My friend, she has cancer, she is terminal, her husband dies a little inside each day with her, her son...only 12, seems to young to be without his mother. Yet you...O LORD and only you can heal what the doctors call terminal. The treatment she undergoes is tough...be with her. Her faith in you is strong, her love for you even stronger. Father, in the heart and words of her husband, please do not prolong her physical agony if you are taking her home to be with you.

You spoke to me... and reminded me to find joy in all circumstances. As I read the verse Rejoice in the Lord, again I say rejoice....I continued on reading and for the first time in a long time, the words "quench not the spirit" were heard. By not rejoicing...I drown out the spirit you have given to me as counselor and friend. Lord, You are so gracious.

Simple Devotion

For Today...

Dear Lord,

I bring you my shortcomings...To many to list...today Father, I ask your forgiveness in my not faithlessness to you. I have lacked in my reading of your word, in my prayer life, instead allowing myself to become absorbed in pity.

I bring you my worship and praise... For today the earth sings your praises. Thank you for your faithfullness to me, for showing me who you are and reminding me of this when I needed, and even when I dont

I bring you my prayer... That Father God, You will guide my steps, my heart and my mouth, that I may be a witness for others.

You spoke to me...
2 Corinthians 4:7
We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power my be of God and not of us.
