9/11...ten years later...

September 11, 2001 is forever burned into my mind. My husband called me just after the first plane hit...when the second on hit, I woke my daughter. My oldest grandson (at the time my only grandchild) was playing at my feet. I watched him playing and wondered what kind of world he would grow up. Silence was screaming loudly as we could not comprehend the WTC building crumbing to the ground, another plane hitting the pentagon, then the flight that crashed in PA. It shook my sense of security and safety that I once felt.

This morning on the news, we watched again, this time explaining to the children what happened that day. The heroes who came out of nowhere, then blending back into obsurity.

To the families of those who died...my heart still hurts for you.
To the heroes of that day, and those who served because of that day, Thankyou.
To those who were forever changed that day, God bless you.
