My dear dog...she is 15 1/2 this month. She is going blind from an eye disease and today she scared us. She is walking like a drunk, we have had to elevate her food and water because she cannot bend down to eat or drink without falling over. Her eyes racing back and forth like a child coming off a tire swing, swinging in endless circles.
We took her to the vet, I was sure we were saying good bye to her today, but she has a condition called Vestiblular Syndrome, usually seen in older dogs...I think she qualifies! She should start to get better over the next week.
As my dearest took her to the vet, I thought of the fact that I held her and her sibilings the day she was born, she has been such a faithful friend and companion. She was very protective and aggressive in her youth, but with age, she has mellowed.
She did belong to my dearest, in her youth she never left his side, now I have that roll.
My heart breaks for her today, she looks to me for reassurance and love...and she gets it. Thank you GOD for dogs!
