Christmas party

My husband is a guardsman with the National Guard. Yesterday they held a family Christmas Party, which was fun for the kids.

Belle and little man made reideer faces at a craft table, then got to decorate some Christmas bags. The eldest made a paper chain with papers that were decorated in the colors and stripes of a candy cane. They had some Wii games set up, and a bounce house for the kids to play in. Of course they had a santa there, and each child got some small gifts.

The younger two wanted to write a letter to Santa at one of the stations, however it was not a list of "I wants" and "gimmies". Each child wrote that they were so grateful for the party and for their family. They get more than we realize some times.

They each got to decorate a cookie, so much sugar! but they sure enjoyed it.

The kids know that there is no santa that roams around the world, but they do know that there was a man name nicholas that is the basis for the fairy tale santa.

It was a bittersweet day for me. I loved watching the kids have fun, I enjoyed being with my husband, but it was the 4th anniversary of my fathers death. Thoughts of my father echoed throughout my mind from morning until night. How I miss him.

I love you daddy, I am trying to take good care of mom, she hurts to...still. Time does not heal all wounds, you just become accustomed to them being there.
