Multitude Monday 2/14

For the first valentine's day, I spent with my beloved, I took a variety of candy bars and rewrapped them. Each candy bar wrapper had a message relating to us. I gave him a Rocky road...the wrapper said "I hope the only rocky road we go to is the one to our house. An Airhead candy bar..."If I don't tell you I love you, it is because I am an airhead". I cannot remember the others. I then filled his car with balloons while he was at work, and placed a single red rose on his stearing wheel. He had never had that kind of treatment.

The years have passed and now money is an issue. Today I shall cook my beloved steak and eggs, one of his favorite meals for dinner.

The gestures through time have faded, however the love has only grown. The importance of things like "valentines day" have been replaced with a few moments in the evening. Times when we have dressed up and gone out to dinner have been replaced with a lunch and going to antique shops.

I must confess that I do baffle him. So many women want to be showered with jewelry, chocolates and flowers, I prefer kitchen tools, and plants. He does not get that, even after all these years.

639. For my beloved, my friend.
640. Lunch on a Saturday together because Valentines falls on a Monday.
641. For him fixing my dryer vent for me.
642. His work on the house.
643. His love for me.
644. Shared dreams and visions of tomorrow
645. My first love...My Father, My Saviour, my friend
646. My beloved who shares my love for God
647. The truths my first love teaches me daily
648. Time with the church family, a bible study where we are looking at the OT tabernacle and learning how it relates to how I should worship my LORD.
649. The desire to guard my heart from deception, and God helping me along the way.
650. Today
651. Princess who turned 9 on Wednesday
652. Their mother who took the kids skating saturday, then brought dinner home for them.
653. That she bought new clothes for them.
654. Anticipating today learning together.
655. God's beautiful sunrise that He gave to me this morning....a valentines day kiss from my LORD.

I came over from Ann’s today. I know it’s two days after the fact. But there are so many grateful lists to read – all of them so good. And yours is too. It was a blessing.

First – I get you husband not getting – we are trained a certain way – still chocolate is chocolate :)

My favorite from your thankful list is this one: 650. Today (this one – so simple, so profound – so Ann Voskamp-ish – today, now, the only thing that IS – past gone, future not here – now is the thing – Today – I hearted this)

God Bless and Keep you and your family
