Last Thursday morning I had my eldest go to the freezer to get out meat for a pot luck we had that evening. When he brought it in it was mostly frozen, but obviously thawing....cancel the potluck
I spent Thursday and Friday canning 24 jars of venison steaks, 15 jars of split pea soup made with smoked venison and 12 jars of lentil soup...made with smoked venison (as you can tell, we had a lot of venison)
Hubby had apparently used the socket but not plugged the freezer back in. He felt so bad, but I pointed out to him, with a new season starting, this was a good thing, but he gets to clean the freezer!!!
My mom had given me a pressure cooker that she found at a 2nd hand store (still in the box) and boy did I give that a workout! I made about 1/2 the soups in that. The other 1/2 was stove top.
Thank God my oldest found this out prior to the meat spoiling!
