2012

I think I was posting about this last year...weight loss. Yet again I dropped it, however, this year I have a motivation. Not so much weight loss as getting in better shape.

We are hoping to go to California in May to visit some dear friends of my beloved's. Chuck and Penny and their family became a 2nd family to him when he was stationed in there in the Navy. They are getting on in years and we need to visit before they are gone. They are having health problems and we need to go.

With this will come Sea World, the pacific ocean (I am hopeful that we can get a place right on the ocean through the military), the zoo and Escondido Wildlife Park. We plan on a theme park like disney ... maybe...The kid's mom is coming with us so this will be such fun. Hopefully my beloved and I can go out for dinner one of the nights.

Then towards the end of summer we hope to head out to North Dakota to visit my Father in law. On this trip I hope to find my families homestead from my great grandparents, their gravesites and a now ghost town that they once lived in. When I have time, I work on a family tree so have a lot of information about locations and such. I HOPE we have time for me to go to the library in Bismark and find out exactly why they lost the homestead. I have bits and pieces of info but hope

So this becomes my motivation. The extra weight I carry now makes it uncomfortable for me to travel, phyically. I know that many hours will be spent walking and I need to keep up and not drag everyone down.

A few days ago I started the 30 day shred by Jillian Micheals. I do this in the morning then pilates in the evening (I find this wards of some of the soreness that comes with awakening muscles that had forgotten how to move) I also found some month long challenges for Plank, Pushups and Crunches that I have been doing in the evening.

To help track myself, I have started a christian bible study called "Life Under Control" it incorporates not only physical health but spiritual health as well.

I would like to lose about 20 pounds by May but will be content with less as long as my endurance and overall health increases.
