This box little man made for mom out of popsicle sticks. He worked so hard at it! and was overjoyed to have his own gift to give to her.
The little princess made the button and bead flower arrangement. The vase was made by the little man in co-op and he came up with the idea of letting her use this for the vase. She had such fun making this and mom was thrilled with it.
Our tree with the decorated wrapping paper. I think the kids did a wonderful job and had great fun.
I had made an afghan for my dau with matching slippers (after the fact I thought I should have taken pics), my mom and sister got dishrags that were crocheted (these are a tradition now as they are greatly loved) and I knit slippers for them as well. The kids made coasters for their mom, great-nana and my sister.
I must say I was the most spoiled this year...my mom got me a cricut and 6 cartridges to go with it (she found a very good deal). My beloved got me a kindle which I had no idea that he was even looking at them. I have already put it to use reading my bible each morning on it, and I have downloaded some of the free books offered, currently I am reading Letters of a Woman Homesteader. My dau made for me a variety of soup in a jar mixes, instant oatmeal, lemon curd and orange marmalade (my absolute favorites).
We had a large dinner on Christmas eve (my daughters birthday) and she joked over the fact that not everyone gets a huge dinner with all the trimmings in honor of her birthday. The little princess made brownies for her, and we taught her how to stencil a design on top with powdered sugar.
The kids each got an MP3 player, I have my own motives for this...there are free classic audio books online and I am going to download some for them. They got some toys, and clothes. They boys each got a basic tool kit while the princess got a sewing box. They are each thrilled to have their own tools.
Christmas was relaxed and fun, games of guestures, cribbage and just simple laughter filled the house. What a simple joy.
